Dear Parents,

My name is Mary Heine and I'm excited to announce that I will be the Kindergarten and 1st Grade teacher at Trinity Lutheran School, Paw Paw Michigan! I feel blessed to be able to work with your children and am looking forward to meeting all of you. Let me get things started for this upcoming year by telling you a bit about myself.

I was born and raised in a family with four siblings on a farm outside of Bloomfield in northeastern Nebraska and grew up attending a Lutheran School through 8th grade. After high school, I attended Concordia College (LCMS) in Seward, NE, graduating with a Lutheran Teaching Diploma B.S. in Elementary Education, with an Early Childhood Endorsement and a Literature Minor.

I have taught various grade levels from 3 years old Preschool through 2nd Grade and have enjoyed each level with its own different aspects. I feel teaching in a Lutheran school is a special blessing from God filled with new opportunities to minister to young children and their families in a unique, personal way. I am continually grateful to our awesome God and will strive to serve Him as I help shepherd His precious lambs. I find teaching young children how to read and read well is so important and so fascinating! It empowers them to learn in each subject area and opens up their world to God's wonderful creation.

I am married to my husband, Patrick Heine, who is a long-distance truck driver and we have one grown son who is a computer scientist/network analyst. I am looking forward to meeting you and your children. I ask for your prayers for a safe move from Minnesota, where I have been teaching Kindergarten at Immanuel Lutheran, Gaylord.

May God's blessings be upon you and your family,

Mary Heine
